We believe in operating from a framework of “solidarity, not charity,” and we recognize that everyone in our community will both be able to provide support and be in need of support at different times. We need volunteers who are ready to directly help folks in need! We expect needs to include: running errands, picking up groceries, childcare, and eldercare. Happy Valley Mutual Aid matches volunteers to neighbors in need on an ongoing basis, and for sporadic or irregular needs. We are also in need of volunteers who can help us with logistical/ behind the scenes tasks. This work includes matching volunteers to people in need, checking on people in our network, and contributing to discussions about how to further develop our mutual aid group.
